     A lake close by is Lard Pond, and there are some great whitewater spots on Schoodic Stream. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Scutaze Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and if you need a location to stay Americas Best Value Heritage Motor Inn is a fine choice. This lake is so wonderful. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Hardy Pond; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February.
 
   High temperatures at Hardy Pond through the summertime are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Hardy Pond temperatures dip to the-10's. If you came to camp South Branch Lake Camp is a perfect location to do that, and dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Inn & Suites. You could also visit Turtle Pond while you're here at Hardy Pond;  
               it's close by, and there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Hardy Pond Trail.
There are great places to look at along the Shore Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Piscataquis River offers some great whitewater. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the area near Hardy Pond has to offer. This is a popular place for people from Bangor, and Hardy Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, King's Trailer Park is a great local campground.
