Skiing at Bigrock is one of those things you just should do. This lake is so wonderful. Hannigan Pond is right by the Kennedy Tote Road, and if you need a place to stay Shiretown Motor Inn is a good choice. And if that's not sufficient, there's plenty more to do next to Hannigan Pond. Take a hike on the Potters Trail, and camping at My Brothers Place is always a tremendous experience. Dry       warm beds await you at Scottish Inns Houlton; delightful water scenery is available at Drews Lake Dam near Hannigan Pond. Hannigan Pond gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; the month with most of the rain is July; February is when it's the driest. Whitewater paddling is pleasant on Mattawamkeag River - East Branch, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Timoney Lake. Through the warmest time of the year at                  Hannigan Pond highs are typically in the 70's while overnight lows are generally in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Hannigan Pond are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Baxter Brook is a wonderful local stream, and the Pierce Tote Road offers hiking at its best. Lakes? Sure, Mud Lake is in the neighborhood; if you came to camp Wilde Pines Campground is a great place to do that.
