If you are in Kennebec county it's always a good idea to stop by Hamilton Pond. There is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Hamilton Pond called the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and lakes are such peaceful sites, why not stop by Mill Stream. All the water falling down from the sky makes Hamilton Pond a wet place; November is when you get the most rain here, and February meanwhile is the driest month.

Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends.
The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season.
