Hallowell Recreation Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. The top of Granite Hill is easily made out from Hallowell Recreation Pond; of course Rockwood Brook is a striking stream that is worth taking a look at. A good location to camp here at Hallowell Recreation Pond is Foggy Bottom Marine, and dry warm beds await you at Augusta Super 8 Motel. Man, is there plenty of fun stuff to do near Hallowell Recreation Pond. Very great

This lake is so wonderful. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. During the summer, highs mostly are in the 70's at Hallowell Recreation Pond, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.
During the winter the highs are frequently in the 20's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Hallowell Recreation Pond plunge into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Kennebec Heights Country Club, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Cobbosseecontee Stream.

Eaton Mountain

The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season.
