This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a great close by course is Streamside Golf Course, and Cain Pond is a delightful lake close by. Through the months of summer here at Halfmoon Pond, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's,       and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Halfmoon Pond dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. There are other spots here than Halfmoon Pond, for example Swan Lake, and after a long day outdoors Baits Motel is a great place to spend a night or two. A day on the slopes of New Hermon Mountain is just what you need, and camping at Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort is always a fine experience. Near Halfmoon Pond you hit upon the Mount                  Megunticook Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail, and paddling on Marsh Stream is so much fun. So much entertaining stuff to do here at Halfmoon Pond, too splendid to be true. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Camden is in the neighborhood of Halfmoon Pond; there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called the Spring Brook Trail. Halfmoon Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Searsport Shores Ocean Front Campground is a good local campground, and going for a hike on the Mount Battie Trail is always a splendid adventure.
