Beautiful Hales Pond has much to offer visitors. Wilson Stream has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby; there are glorious places to look at along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Lewiston-Auburn here. After a long day outdoors Winthrop Motel is a glorious place to spend a night or two, and a splendid place to camp here at Hales Pond

| | is East Livermore Campgrounds. A golf course near Hales Pond is Maple Lane Inn & Golf Club; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Lost Valley is reasonably near. This lake is so wonderful. If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sandy River; a day on the slopes of Titcomb is just what you need. in the 50's. All through the winter the highs are generally in the 20's; overnight lows all through the winter for Hales Pond tend to be in the 0's. Hales Pond is a wet place that gets a lot of rainfall; November is the wettest month
with most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. Don't forget to take a magnificent little trip to Hales Brook, and camping is available at Five Seasons Campground.

Eaton Mountain
 | 29 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
