Why not camp at East Livermore Campgrounds while you're here at Hales Pond, and Baldwin Hill is easy to spot from Hales Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Hales Pond; Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a great local trail, and enjoy a round of golf at Maple Lane Inn & Golf Club. is a brilliant site to spend a night or two. All through the summertime highs here at Hales Pond get into the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are mostly in
the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Hales Pond temperatures sink to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a great choice; you'll probably meet some folks from Lewiston-Auburn
here. Get drenched paddling on Wilson Stream, and you'll discover a gorgeous lake called Echo Lake.

Eaton Mountain
 | 29 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
