This lake is so wonderful. Dead River - South Branch is a tremendous whitewater spot close to Gull Pond; North Camps is a delightful local campground. That right there is a lot of fun stuff already but it goes on, the White Mountains has it all. If you're here at Gull Pond and you like golf, you can explore Evergreen Golf Club & Golf School, and there's great hiking along the Bemis Trail. Be careful coming to the White Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home

| | again. Really splendid skiing awaits you at Saddleback, and tremendous hiking is available along the Piazza Rock Trail. From a rainfall point of view Gull Pond is a quite normal place; most of the rain falls through August, and February on the other hand is the driest. 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Gull Pond. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Gull Pond;
Bemis Stream Trail is a perfect local trail, and after a long day outdoors The Perennial Inn is a great location to spend a night or two. This lake is one of the great places here in the White Mountains. This lake is so wonderful.
A wonderful lake like Roland Pond in the neighborhood of Gull Pond is a good site to have a look at. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Gull Pond. You can run the rapids of Dead River - South
Branch in the neighborhood of Gull Pond, and if you came for an overnight stay Black Brook Cove Campground is a delightful place to camp.

The bridge in New Sharon is by far the largest waves just under the bridge. Tired arms went through that at the near end of day. The water after that is fast for about an hour after that.  | 15 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
