If you came to camp Camp Laurel is a perfect site to do that, and do have a look at Tingley Brook since you're here at Grist Mill Pond. Just can't get enough of Grist Mill Pond. On a good day at Grist Mill Pond you can take a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and folks from Augusta-Waterville love to come here. Camping at Five Seasons Campground is always a perfect experience, and since you're here, you could also have a look at gorgeous Desert Pond. at Grist Mill Pond Dam near Grist Mill Pond, and after a long day outdoors Winthrop Motel is a magnificent location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Titcomb
while you're here. You can run the rapids of Cobbosseecontee Stream next to Grist Mill Pond, and do pop by Torsey Lake, it's a picturesque lake. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant spot for whitewater paddling near Grist Mill Pond is Sandy River; dry warm beds await you at Maple Hill Farm B & B Inn.

Eaton Mountain
 | 25 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
