    If you are in this part of Maine make sure to pay a visit to Grindstone Pond. If you need a location to stay Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a pleasant choice, and there's pleasant hiking along the Gulf Hagas Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps like Gilman Swamp are fun to stop at. There's so much to do here at Grindstone Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Wildwood Shores Campground is a perfect spot for that. So much exciting stuff to do at Grindstone Pond,  
   so little time. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Grindstone Pond; Number Four Mountain Trail is a delightful local trail, and Davis Brook is in close proximity to Grindstone Pond and is always a bliss to visit.
Everybody nearby loves skiing at Big Squaw; Greenwood Mountain is wonderful and can be observed from here. The Northwest Ridge Road offers hiking at its best, and if you came to camp Balsam woods Campground is a great site to do that. This
 
               lake is so wonderful.
Grindstone Pond gets a common amount of rain; during the month of July you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. During the warm months at Grindstone Pond temperatures are typically in the 70's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Grindstone Pond temperatures descend to the-10's. You can run the rapids of Big Wilson Stream close to Grindstone Pond; a pleasant spree to Beetham Swale is a fine way to spend an afternoon.
