Alewife Brook is a pretty stream that is worth taking a look at, and if you're here, you might as well go to The Brothers. Not far from Great Pond you stumble on Adams Head, and you're sure to run into some friendly people from Portland-South Portland here. This lake is so wonderful. A great site to camp here at Great Pond is Bayley's Camping Resort, and if you're a golfer then a good nearby course is Pleasant Hill Golf       Course. Great Pond is a wet spot that gets a large amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is November; August meanwhile is the driest month. At Great Pond you can observe Blue Hill. Dry warm beds await you at The Higgins Beach Inn, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Royal River. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Lost Valley is just what you need, and Great Pond is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, A Vacationland                  Campground is a tremendous local campground. Summer at Great Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; nighttime lows at Great Pond through the winter regularly dip into the 10's. Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Crescent Beach; if you come at the right time of year, Chandler Brook offers some great whitewater. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Great Pond.
