One of the best things about Great East Lake is its proximity to Lake Ivanhoe Beach, and get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Ossipee River. Great East Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; November is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is January. A perfect site for whitewater paddling near Great East Lake is Little River, and tremendous skiing awaits you at Abenaki. Great       East Lake Dam is a scenic place close to Great East Lake, and if you need a place to stay Wolfeboro Inn is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at King Pine is one of those things you just have to do, and Horn Hill is clearly visible from Great East Lake. Be careful coming to Great East Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. Getting to Copp Brook from Great East Lake is trouble-free; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always                  check out close by Great East Lake. Lakes? Sure, Lake Ivanhoe is close at hand. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Great East Lake, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; during the dark hours in the winter at Great East Lake temperatures fall to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Beaches are glorious; and Great East Lake Beach right next door to Great East Lake is no exception, and Lake Ivanhoe Inn and Campsites is a good campground nearby.
