Grassy Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. While you're here at Grassy Pond you can take a hike along the Mount Megunticook Trail, and lots of people from Rockland come here. A gorgeous lake like Fish Pond next to Grassy Pond is a great site to stop by, and you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Ragged Mountain Trail. There's so much to do here at Grassy Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Alford Lake Camp is a magnificent

A magnificent nearby hotel is Strawberry Hill Seaside Inn, and if you come at the right time of year, Oyster River offers some perfect whitewater. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have a good time. This lake is so wonderful. at Cotton Pond near Grassy Pond, it's a stunning lake, and the scenery at Fish Pond Dam is charming. For the period of the warmest time of the year here at Grassy Pond, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's with night lows
in the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's while Grassy Pond overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. Grassy Pond ordinarily gets lots of precipitation; throughout November this area sees the most rain while July is regularly the driest month.

Lobster Buoy Campsite
 | My family and I camped at Lobster Buoy when I was 13. So many years ago....and so many memories.We were visiting my son, Matt, last May and got lost. I noticed a sign by the road and rememberred the turn. It was as beautiful and for a short while I was young again....I have been going to Lobster Buoy in South Thomaston, ME almost every summer for the past 20 years. It's my family's favorite campsite. Small, family friendly but not with the luxuries you find at other campgrounds - which is the whole point of camping! There's beaches to explore, boats to rent, the Lobster Festival in Rockland, several lighthouses nearby like Owlhead just up the road and Marshall Point in Port Clyde - which, by the way, is the lighthouse that Forrest Gump runs up on his cross-country run! So many fun things to do, and lots of peace and quiet with a huge beach make for a great campsite for those who want to get away and spend time outdoors. ... |

Pitcher Pond
 | 10 miles away Pitcher Pond is the picturesque lake to swim, boat, sail, or kayak. We own a cabin on the pond, and it is great to just get away from everything for the summer. The water is very warm, and my kids enjoy sailing our small sunfish. We have a beautiful view from across the pond, and we see no houses.... |
