Atwood Pond is a nearby lake that you could take a look at; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Jerry Pond Tote Road. This lake is so wonderful. Birch Point is not far from Grand Lake Matagamon at all, and dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Inn & Suites. While you're here at Grand Lake Matagamon you can take a       hike along the Spring Brook Trail, and South Branch Pond Campground is a good campground nearby. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Grand Lake Matagamon, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Grand Lake Matagamon.
