This lake is so wonderful. This is a great region for people who like lakes. County Road Lake is a lake in the vicinity, and get soaked paddling on Mattawamkeag River - East Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Drew Hill is clearly visible from Gould Pond; get yourself into a kayak and hit Meduxnekeag River - South Branch.       That right there is lots already, but it continues; Gould Pond has it all. Dry warm beds await you at Shiretown Motor Inn, and hey, Baxter Brook is a great local stream. If you came for an overnight stay Wilde Pines Campground is a tremendous spot to camp, and Gould Pond is right by the Potters Trail. After a long day outdoors Scottish Inns Houlton is a pleasant location to spend a night or two; the Kennedy Tote Road offers hiking at its best. Bigrock has                  wonderful slopes and a friendly staff. The annual rainfall here at Gould Pond is about average; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Drews Lake Dam is scenic and it's in close proximity to Gould Pond, and you're probably interested in lakes, Hannigan Pond is one of those nearby. Throughout the long summer days at Gould Pond highs are regularly in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's.
