Paddling on Mattawamkeag River - East Branch is so much fun, and there's some flowing water close by, Baxter Brook is a stream you can have a look at while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Gould Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Wilde Pines Campground is a great local campground, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Potters       Trail. From a rainfall point of view Gould Pond is a rather normal place; the wettest month of the year is mostly July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. Timoney Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and lovely scenery and nice skiing is what you get at Bigrock. While you're here at Gould Pond you can take a hike along the Kennedy Tote Road, and not far from Gould Pond you get some delightful water                  scenery at Drews Lake Dam. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Scottish Inns Houlton is a perfect site to spend a night or two; a lake nearby is Mud Lake. All through the warmest time of the year highs here at Gould Pond get into the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Gould Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Camping at My Brothers Place is always a great experience; going for a hike along the Pierce Tote Road will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Gould Pond.
