Getchel Mountain is pretty and can be spotted from Getchel Lakes, obviously you could also stop by Wabassus Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. All the water falling down from the sky makes Getchel Lakes a wet place; most of the rain falls during November while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Grand Lake Stream, and on a tremendous day it's a splendid idea to spend the day at

Sure, Third Machias Lake is just a very short distance away. During the summer, highs generally are in the 70's at Getchel Lakes while night lows are usually in the 50's. at Getchel Lakes temperatures fall to the 0's. Getchel Lakes is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Old Farm Inn is a brilliant place to camp nearby, and Keenes Lake Camping Grounds is a wonderful campground nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. Some close by water includes Mutton Cove Brook, and dry warm beds await you at Bar Harbor Inn. And that's not all you can do here at Getchel Lakes. Taking a little journey to nearby Burnt Point is a nice idea, and do set aside some time for Midland Flats since you're here at Getchel Lakes.

Clifford Lake
 | 13 miles away Clifford Lake is very isolated . You can get their via route 9 or Route 1 in Princeton. I would recommend a recent typo map and asking plenty of guestions from the locals. There is a small camping area. My last trip there (92) I had a truck and it was needed to traverse one road that comes to mind. The fishing was excellent ( pickerel averaged 20 in.) .
