Yep, outdoors exciting things to do are really abundant here at George Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something close to George Pond? Hurd Pond is in close proximity, and there are some delightful whitewater spots on Penobscot River. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful close by hotel is Courtyard Bangor; Lucerne Golf Course       is a wonderful golf course close by. George Pond is not the only location close by, Holbrook Pond is a close by lake, and George Pond is right by the Peaked Mountain Trail. If you need a site to stay University Inn Academic Suites is a wonderful choice, and camping at Greenwood Acres Campground is always a good experience. The annual rainfall here at George Pond is about average; throughout the month of November you get the most rain around here while February                  is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The slopes of New Hermon Mountain are so inviting noone can resist, and the summit of Chase Mountain can be observed from George Pond. So much exciting stuff close to George Pond, just fantastic. An interesting thing to go to close to George Pond is Phillips Lake Dam; do take a hike on the Old Gold Mine Trail. If you came to camp Red Barn RV Park is a brilliant site to do that, and lots of folks from Bangor come here. During the long summer days here at George Pond, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 50's.
