    Go to Gauntlet Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. Gauntlet Pond is a good spot of normal precipitation; throughout July this area sees the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Pleasant River - East Branch; nearby you discover the Number Two Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. Throughout the long summer days at Gauntlet Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's while night lows are  
   mostly in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Gauntlet Pond plunge into the-10's.
Some close by water includes Gauntlet Brook. So many enjoyable things to do at Gauntlet Pond, so little time. A delightful place for whitewater paddling close to Gauntlet Pond is Pleasant River - East Branch, and going for a hike on the Jo-Mary Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is
 
               so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Gauntlet Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Jo-mary Lake Campground is a great place for that, and Gauntlet Falls is an inspiring spot to explore during your stay.
Gauntlet Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Big Moose Campground is a glorious local campground, and Big Wilkie Mountain can be distinguished from Gauntlet Pond. There are glorious spots to discover along the Pleasant River Trail; you can never get enough of the splendid skiing at Big Squaw.
