     Titcomb is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood; a tremendous close by hotel is Herbert Grand Hotel. Summertime highs at Gammon Pond typically tend to be in the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's; overnight lows at Gammon Pond through the winter frequently descend into the 0's. Gammon Pond is not the only spot nearby, Bauds Pond is a nearby lake; you can stay the night  
   at Gilman Pond Campground. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and Deer Farms Camps and Campground is a magnificent campground nearby.
Any time is a magnificent time at Gammon Pond if you go for the outdoors. You could also take a look at Lemon Stream if you're here at Gammon Pond; it's nearby, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites is a splendid location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.
 
               Hiking is a popular thing to do around Gammon Pond; Arnolds Trail is a splendid local trail, and hey, Barker Brook is a nice local stream. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Sugarloaf USA.
From a precipitation point of view Gammon Pond is a pretty common place; November is when you get the most snow here, and the driest month is February. The Fire Warden Trail offers hiking at its best, and you can run the rapids of Carrabasset.

Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends.
The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.
The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan....
