Near French Pond you find the Hockomock Nature Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail; if you come at the right time of year, Sheepscot River offers some fine whitewater. A pleasant close by hotel is Best Western Waterville Inn; there's always Colby Mills Dam to visit in the neighborhood of French Pond. High temperatures at French Pond during the summertime       months are in the 70's. Summer night lows descend down to the 60's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 20's; overnight lows at French Pond through the wintertime commonly drop into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. You'll stumble on a striking lake called Dodge Pond near French Pond, and there are some great whitewater spots on Sheepscot River - West Branch.
