Whitewater paddling is great on Branch Lake Stream, and a round of golf at nearby Bar Harbor Golf Course is a glorious way to kill some time. Swamps are attention-grabbing places and Fresh Meadow next to French Hill Pond is no exception, and you can stay the night at Mount Desert Campground. The high level of precipitation makes French Hill Pond a pretty wet place; during November this area sees the       most rain, and the driest month is August. The warmest time of the year at French Hill Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at French Hill Pond. You'll need more than a day to look at everything French Hill Pond has to offer, you can camp at Hadleys Point Campground, and Hamilton Pond Dam is a location that is near French Hill Pond. This lake is so wonderful. The North Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best; do schedule some time to take a look at Blunts Point if you have a chance.
