Birchhead Shore is in the neighborhood of Fourth Pond if you're in a beach type of mood. There's so much to do here at Fourth Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Balsam Cove Campground is a wonderful location for that. Man, is there heaps of amusing stuff to do right next door to Fourth Pond. There are other places here than Fourth Pond, for example Second Pond. You'll need more than a day       to discover everything Fourth Pond has to offer, you can camp at Robin Hood Camp. While you're here at Fourth Pond you can take a hike along the Old Cove Trail, and Third Pond is a splendid lake close by. Fourth Pond gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; November is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Fort Knox Inn; do take a hike on the Blue                  Hill Trail. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Bald Mountain Trail, and whitewater paddling is glorious on Narramissic River. Eggemoggin Oceanfront Lodge is a pleasant site to get some rest, and a swamp like Great Meadow in close proximity to Fourth Pond has lots of exciting things to see. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Blue Hill Falls. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Fourth Pond reach the 70's, and the night is rather cooler of course, commonly in the 50's.
