This lake is so wonderful. Gristmill Brook is a stream that you may come across during your stay; you can go for a hike on the Albany Brook Trail. Here at Foster Pond you can observe Accomac Mountain, and Oxford House Inn is a perfect site to get some rest. If you need       a location to stay Pleasant Mountain Inn is a delightful choice, and Saco River is a fine whitewater spot close by. And that's not all you can do here at Foster Pond. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Holt Pond, and a round of golf at nearby Bridgton Highlands Country Club is a nice way to kill some time. For the period of the warm months at Foster Pond temperatures are usually in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's.                  During the winter highs are typically in the 20's with temperatures at Foster Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. The high level of rainfall makes Foster Pond a rather wet location; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while September is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Peabody Lake Mill Dam is worth a visit if you're here, and on a pleasant day you can take a look at Perley Meadow, a swamp in the neighborhood of Foster Pond. That right there is plenty already, but it continues; Foster Pond has it all. Lakes? Sure, Peabody Pond is in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Crooked River in the vicinity of Foster Pond; North Cove is close at hand and always fine to visit.
