All through the winter the highs are regularly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Forest Lake. Forest       Lake commonly gets much rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November, and September is when it's the driest. Lost Valley is a pleasant local ski area; a lake close by is Little Duck Pond. That right there is heaps already, but it goes on; Forest Lake has it all. Verrills Ledges is a brilliant place to stop by while in the region; a brilliant place to camp here at Forest Lake is Adventure Camp. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Portland-West,Me is                  a brilliant spot to spend a night or two; Forest Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Twin Brooks Campground is a perfect local campground. Everybody close by loves skiing at Shawnee Peak, and a delightful nearby hotel is Howard Johnson Hotel. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Royal River offers some tremendous whitewater, and Atherton Hill is clearly visible from Forest Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
