A lovely lake like Whittier Pond in close proximity to Flying Pond is a brilliant place to take a look at, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Sandy River. This lake is so wonderful. Flying Pond Dam is not far at all from Flying Pond; the summit of Eaton Mountain can be seen from Flying Pond. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Flying Pond. | | a night or two; great skiing awaits you at Titcomb. During your trip to Flying Pond you'll meet some people from Augusta-Waterville for sure. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Flying Pond has to offer, you can camp at Five Seasons Campground. Summertime at Flying Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. There's whitewater on Wilson Stream for all you adrenaline junkies, and if you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a great choice. Black Pond is a good lake near Flying
Pond, and Mill Stream is in the neighborhood of Flying Pond and is always a delight to go to. Flying Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; most of the rain falls through November; February is the month with the least moisture.
This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Flying Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Laurel is a good location for that; why not take a refreshing hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.

Eaton Mountain
 | 22 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.
