     Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Dead River - South Branch, and don't forget to take a great little journey to Blanchard Brook. Flatiron Pond is a good location of common rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. Throughout the warm months here at Flatiron Pond, high temperatures mostly reach the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into  
   the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's while Flatiron Pond nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Black Mountain if you're here, and a brilliant sight of stunning Spotted Mountain is available.
So many cool things to do here at Flatiron Pond, too good to be true. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Kennebago River, and there's
 
               perfect hiking along the Bemis Trail. Blanchard Cove is close to Flatiron Pond and is a delightful location to take a look at, and good hiking is available along the Milrose Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Black Brook Cove Campground is a wonderful place to camp. Lakes are great; Kennebago Lake is a lake that's near Flatiron Pond.
This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Lost Logan, and the Morrell Trail offers hiking at its best. North Camps is a great campground nearby, and beautiful scenery and good skiing is what you obtain at Saddleback.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....

I used to climb up as a kid, and I still love it. It is a fairly easy hike, but worth it at the end. There is one small brook crossing, but other then that, it is a great place to take kids young and old....
