What a spot this is for outdoors folks. Snowshoe Pond is a great lake close to Fitts Pond, and Fitts Pond is a place with many visitors from Bangor. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Sunkhaze Stream for all you adrenaline people; there is a brilliant hiking trail nearby called the Bald Mountain       Trail. Summertime highs at Fitts Pond frequently tend to be in the 70's while overnight lows are mostly in the 50's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Fitts Pond. A gorgeous lake like Little Burnt Pond next to Fitts Pond is a delightful site to explore, and why not camp at Parks Pond Campground while you're here at Fitts Pond. If you need a place to stay University Inn Academic Suites is a                  fine choice. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend nearby Lucerne Golf Course, and a tremendous close by hotel is Homestead Motel and Cottages. If you came for an overnight stay Red Barn RV Park is a good spot to camp, and going for a hike on the Old Gold Mine Trail is always a great adventure. The amount of rainfall that falls at Fitts Pond is close to the national average; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February.
