Camping is available at Casey's Spencer Bay Campground, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Roach River. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little spree to Lagoon Brook since you're here at First Roach Pond, and Bingham Motor Inn is a perfect place to get some rest. Not far from First Roach Pond, you'll come across Lazy Tom Stream Reservoir which is a scenic lake, and       you can go for a hike on the Big Spencer Mountain Trail. Now, you may believe that's lots but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at First Roach Pond. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to see at Roach Pond Dam right next door to First Roach Pond, and don't leave First Roach Pond without first going for a hike along the Gulf Hagas Trail. Big Squaw is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood, and going for a hike on the Number Four Mountain                  Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Why not camp at South Inlet Campground while you're here at First Roach Pond; get your heart pumping on the delightful whitewater of Pleasant River - West Branch. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid close by hotel is Lodge at Moosehead Lake. Summertime highs at First Roach Pond ordinarily tend to be in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at First Roach Pond plunge into the-10's.
