Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Old Stream; do visit First Lake, it's a scenic lake. During the warm days of summer at First Lake highs are regularly in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. | | at, Keenes Lake Camping Grounds is a delightful local campground, and Second Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. This lake is so wonderful. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can check out Canaan Dam; camping at Big Lake Campground is always a wonderful experience. This site is so good, just check out all the amusing things to do near First Lake. If you need a spot to stay Bar Harbor Inn is a good choice. Get your heart pumping on | |

the wonderful whitewater of Machias River; why not a little side trip to Dead Stream. All the water falling down from the sky makes First Lake a wet place; the month with most of the rain is November while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Clifford Lake
 | Clifford Lake is very isolated . You can get their via route 9 or Route 1 in Princeton. I would recommend a recent typo map and asking plenty of guestions from the locals. There is a small camping area. My last trip there (92) I had a truck and it was needed to traverse one road that comes to mind. The fishing was excellent ( pickerel averaged 20 in.) .
