South Beaverdam Lake is a good lake near First Chain Lake, and drift down the rapids of Machias River in a kayak. First Chain Lake gets lots of water; the month with most of the rain is November while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Chain Lake Dam has fine water scenery and it's in the vicinity of First Chain Lake, and there are other locations here than First Chain Lake, for example Grover Lake. This lake is so wonderful.  | Clifford Lake is very isolated . You can get their via route 9 or Route 1 in Princeton. I would recommend a recent typo map and asking plenty of guestions from the locals. There is a small camping area. My last trip there (92) I had a truck and it was needed to traverse one road that comes to mind. The fishing was excellent ( pickerel averaged 20 in.) .
