     Ethel Pond gets a typical amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls through August while February is usually the driest month. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sandy River - South Branch, and if you came for an overnight stay Black Brook Cove Campground is a good location to camp. So much amusing stuff in the White Mountains, just mind-boggling. Saddleback is a very popular ski area  
   in the vicinity, and going for a hike on the Brook Trail is always a great adventure.
This lake is so wonderful. Evergreen Golf Club & Golf School is a golf course close to Ethel Pond, and the top of Perry Mountain is easily observed from Ethel Pond. So much fun stuff to do here at Ethel Pond, too brilliant to be true. There are perfect sites to explore along the Chimney Trail; you ought to definitely stop at Piazza Rock while you're here.
And that's not
 
               everything you can do here in the White Mountains. There is a glorious hiking trail close to Ethel Pond called the Piazza Rock Trail, and while you're here, you could also have a look at delightful Moose And Deer Pond. This lake is one of the great places here in the White Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Sandy River is a splendid whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Ethel Pond, and Coos Canyon Cabins and Campground is a great campground nearby.
Head up to Black Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, and do take a look at Eddy Pond, it's a wonderful lake. High temperatures at Ethel Pond through the warmest time of the year are in the 70's while night lows are generally in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Ethel Pond dipping down into the-10's through winter nights.

LARGEST ADVANCED SKIING COMPLEX IN THE EAST
The new chair provides easy access to what was already the largest self-contained advanced skiing complex in the East. The black diamond terrain is in a bowl that is separate from the rest of the ski area. Three advanced trails were added in the bowl this summer. The new lift services 12 Top-to-Bottom advanced skiing runs.
NOVICES & INTERMEDIATES CAN SKI FROM THE SUMMIT -- FOR THE FIRST TIME
The new quad chairlift also allows novice and intermediate skiers to ski from the summit for the first time. Novices can now enjoy the panoramic views and ski along the 4000 ft. ridge amongst rime-frosted conifers before descending to the base via the 3.1 mile America and Hudson Highway trails. Intermediates can ski Tri-Color and Green Weaver, a one mile loop, back to the Kennebago Chair.

Sandy River
Today I finished a kayak trip from Strong, Maine and took out at Osoola Park in Norridgewock. It took a day and three quarters. The bridge in New Sharon is by far  the largest waves just under the bridge. Tired arms went through that at the near end of day. The water after that is fast for about an hour after that. Need to pay attention....
