If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll love Elsie Pond. Paddling on Webster Brook is so much fun, and Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a splendid local campground. High temperatures at Elsie Pond during the summer months are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Elsie       Pond are in the-10's. While you're here at Elsie Pond you can take a hike along the Eagle Lake Tote Road, and needless to say Caribou Brook is a striking stream that is worth a visit. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Elsie Pond, you'll find Ervin Pond which is a pretty lake, and get covered with water paddling on Munsungan Stream. Dry warm beds await you at Katahdin Inn.
