This lake is so wonderful. Hayno Bog is an exciting swamp in the neighborhood of Ellis Pond, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Saddleback. All the outdoors amusing stuff close to Ellis Pond will keep you coming back over and over. Going for a hike on the Bemis Stream Trail is always a great adventure; you'll find a stunning lake called Rangeley Lake. Man, is there lots of fun things to do in the White Mountains. If you came to

| | camp North Camps is a great spot to do that, and while you're here, you could stop at Kennebago River. Ellis Pond is a beautiful lake in the White Mountains. Through the warm days of summer at Ellis Pond highs are commonly in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Mountain. So much exciting stuff to do here in the White Mountains, too splendid to be true. Near Ellis Pond you come across the Bemis Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and Rangeley Lake Dam is not far at all from Ellis
Pond. There is a great hiking trail right next door to Ellis Pond called the Milrose Trail, and why not stop by Bonney Point also while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for
you then we recommend Kennebago River, and a gorgeous lake like Nutting Pond is a brilliant place to explore. The yearly rainfall here at Ellis Pond is about average; through August this area sees the most rain, and the driest
month of the year is February. Camping at Cupsuptic Campground is always a tremendous experience, and there's whitewater on Dead River - South Branch for all you adrenaline junkies.

The black diamond terrain is in a bowl that is separate from the rest of the ski area. Three advanced trails were added in the bowl this summer. The new lift services 12 Top-to-Bottom advanced skiing runs. NOVICES & INTERMEDIATES CAN SKI FROM THE SUMMIT -- FOR THE FIRST TIME The new quad chairlift also allows novice and intermediate skiers to ski from the summit for the first time. Novices can now enjoy the panoramic views and ski along the 4000 ft. ridge amongst rime-frosted conifers before descending to the base via the 3.1 mile America and Hudson Highway trails. Intermediates can ski Tri-Color and Green Weaver, a one mile loop, back to the Kennebago Chair. 4 NEW TRAILS Black Beauty, Frost Bite and Artula (black diamond) were added off the new Kennebago Quad Chair. Bugeye Pond
 | 19 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
