The beauty of Ellis Pond attracts many people from all around. This lake is so wonderful. A good spot to camp here at Ellis Pond is Cupsuptic Campground; the Bemis Stream Trail is a magnificent hiking trail nearby. Ellis Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, North Camps is a glorious local campground, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Saddleback. | | Kennebago River is so much fun, and visit close by Hayno Bog. For the period of the summertime here at Ellis Pond, high temperatures usually reach the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 20's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Ellis Pond tend to be in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? along the Bemis Trail. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. Ellis Pond is right next door to Rangeley Lake Dam which is a scenic location undeniably worth visiting, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Milrose
Trail. Be careful coming to the White Mountains, you might not ever wanna return back home again. If you're here at Ellis Pond, do take a journey to Bonney Point, and drift down the rapids of Dead River - South Branch in a kayak.
Rangeley Lake is a wonderful lake near Ellis Pond. The annual rainfall here at Ellis Pond is about average; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; February is when it's the driest. That right there is
loads of fun stuff already but it goes on, the White Mountains has it all. Some of the water close by flows, like Kennebago River, and why not head up to Black Mountain and strap some skis to your feet.

Bugeye Pond
 | 19 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
