Elaine Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Cathedral Pines Camping Area is a great local campground, and if you've had enough of Elaine Pond, Oqim Pond is close by. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cupsuptic River; you can go for a hike on the Morrell Trail.  | 11 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
