    Go to Elaine Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. The Arnold Pond Trail is a magnificent hiking trail in the neighborhood of Elaine Pond, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Saddleback. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Elaine Pond, you could also explore delightful Sapet Pond, and Bog Brook is next to Elaine Pond and is always a pleasure to explore. Elaine Pond gets a common amount of annual rain; the month with most of the  
   rain is July while February is typically the driest month.
Near Elaine Pond you come across the Arnold Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail, and a pleasant location to camp here at Elaine Pond is Cathedral Pines Camping Area. During the months of summer highs here at Elaine Pond get into the 70's, and the night is slightly colder of course, typically in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Elaine
 
               Pond are in the-10's. If you come at the right time of year, Moose River - South Branch offers some delightful whitewater.
Oqim Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore, and camping is available at Black Arrow Lodge. Yep, outdoors cool things to do are beyond doubt bountiful here at Elaine Pond. There is a nice hiking trail close to Elaine Pond called the Morrell Trail, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Cupsuptic River.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....
