     Elaine Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Cathedral Pines Camping Area is a great local campground, and if you've had enough of Elaine Pond, Oqim Pond is close by. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cupsuptic River; you can go for a hike on the Morrell Trail. A brilliant site for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Elaine Pond is Moose River - South Branch, and a splendid  
   place to camp here at Elaine Pond is Black Arrow Lodge. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great earth it would be. Don't forget to take a glorious little journey to Bog Brook, and don't leave Elaine Pond without first going for a hike along the Arnold Trail.
Elaine Pond gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily July, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's
 
               the driest. You could also stop at Sapet Pond while you're here at Elaine Pond; it's close by, and there are great places to discover along the Arnold Pond Trail. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Saddleback.
At Elaine Pond through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's while night lows are usually in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Elaine Pond.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....
