A visit to Echo Pond is always a good idea. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Royal River, and Little Ossipee Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop by. During the long summer days, highs frequently are in the 70's at Echo Pond. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Echo Pond plunge into the 10's. After a long day outdoors Portland

| | Regency Hotel is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two, and while you're here here do have a look at nearby West Shore Sandy Beach. A brilliant site to pop by in the neighborhood of Echo Pond is Cow Island Ledge, and if you get bored of Echo Pond you could also go to nearby Great Pond. Point in the neighborhood of Echo Pond is always a great idea, and if you came for an overnight stay Winslow Park and Campground is a tremendous place to camp. This lake is so wonderful. From Echo Pond you acquire a nice panorama
of Hunger Hill, and folks from Portland-South Portland love to come here. If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Echo Pond. Spend the day on the beach at Little Beach if you're here at Echo Pond, and a perfect nearby hotel is Eastland Park Hotel.

Also, a strong WiFi signal was nice for a change and cable TV with 70 channels at our level site. Highly recommend if staying for a week, month or the season. Plenty to do in the area.... |

 | 19 miles away This is a nice small pond just off of 302 but you can't hear any of the busy traffic. I'd recommend LOTS of bug sprays as the mosquitoes tend to swarm and are very plentiful this year. If you're not a fisherman but your children are...there are picnic tables for you to enjoy a book, needlepoint, or just relax and take in the fresh air.... |
