This is a perfect region for people who like lakes. Echo Lake is a lake close by, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Sweets Trail. A fine close by hotel is Shiretown Motor Inn. From a rainfall point of view Echo Lake is a reasonably typical site; the month with most of the rain is August while February is the month       with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Bigrock; if you need a site to stay Crown Park Inn is a pleasant choice. From Echo Lake you acquire a good sight of North Peak, and if you come at the right time of year, Aroostook River offers some splendid whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Mantle Lake; why                  not take a look at close by Lamson Brook since you're here at Echo Lake. And that's not all you can do here at Echo Lake. Echo Lake is a great location to visit for more than one day, Arndt's Aroostook River Lodge and Campground is a great location to camp nearby, and at Echo Lake Dam next to Echo Lake there are some out of the ordinary things to see. High temperatures at Echo Lake during the summer months are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Echo Lake are in the-10's.
