Eastbrook Campground is a good campground nearby, and on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Old Gold Mine Trail. This lake is so wonderful. For the duration of the days of summer, highs commonly are in the 70's at East Great Works Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are generally       in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at East Great Works Pond temperatures descend to the 0's. Man, is there plenty of fun things to do next to East Great Works Pond. There is a brilliant hiking trail next to East Great Works Pond called the Eagle Lake Trail, and if you've had enough of East Great Works Pond, Trout Pond is close by. Parks Pond Campground is a splendid local campground; White Birches Country Club is a pleasant place                  to get some rest. If the weather is glorious here at East Great Works Pond, you can go for a hike along the Peaked Mountain Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Ellsworth. East Great Works Pond gets much water; November is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful.
