West Chairback Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Hays Brook Falls. Going for a hike along the Northwest Ridge Road will let you absorb the natural beauty       of this neighborhood, and camping is available at Jo-mary Lake Campground. Dry warm beds await you at Pittsfield Motor Inn. Do stop at Pugwash Pond near East Chairback Pond, it's a gorgeous lake; you can make out Chairback Mountain from East Chairback Pond. High temperatures at East Chairback Pond through the warmest time of the year are in the 70's while night lows are regularly in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows                  in the-10's overnight here at East Chairback Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Auburn Log Hauling Road, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Pleasant River - West Branch. Hiking along the Gulf Hagas Trail is tremendous fun; after a long day outdoors Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a good place to spend a night or two. The amount of rain that falls at East Chairback Pond is close to the national average; July is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful.
