At East Branch Lake you always meet someone from Bangor, and East Branch Lake is a glorious spot to visit for more than one day, Chewonki's Big Eddy Campground is a glorious spot to camp nearby. A common amount of precipitation falls here at East Branch Lake; the month with most of the rain is November while February is       the month with the least amount of precipitation. Lakes are such serene places, why not check out Tack Pond near East Branch Lake, and nearby you hit upon the Cedar Lake Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. Dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Inn & Suites, and there is a delightful hiking trail nearby called the Gray Ledge Dam Trail. At East Branch Lake throughout the summer months highs are in the 70's while nighttime lows are usually in the 50's. Daytime                  highs during the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at East Branch Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Penobscot River - West Branch, and if you need a site to stay Americas Best Value Heritage Motor Inn is a good choice. So much exciting stuff to do at East Branch Lake, so little time. Allagash Gateway Campsite is a perfect campground nearby, and going for a hike on the Lake Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful.
