     You can run the rapids of Union River - West Branch right next door to Ducktail Pond; if you need a location to stay White Birches Country Club is a tremendous choice. Tannery Brook River is a magnificent whitewater spot near Ducktail Pond, and going for a hike on the Eagle Lake Trail is always a great adventure. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Ducktail Pond. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Snowshoe Pond;  
   Ducktail Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Eastbrook Campground is a splendid local campground. This lake is so wonderful. At Ducktail Pond you can catch a glimpse of Bald Bluff Mountain, and there is a delightful hiking trail close by called the Peaked Mountain Trail.
Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Ducktail Pond while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and night lows at Ducktail
 
               Pond through the wintertime usually sink into the 0's. Not far from Ducktail Pond, you'll stumble on Pug Pond which is a gorgeous lake. There's so much to do here at Ducktail Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Parks Pond Campground is a nice site for that. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Ellsworth.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Ducktail Pond a wet place; November is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is February. Why not have a look at close by Indian Camp Brook while you're here at Ducktail Pond; close by you stumble on the Old Gold Mine Trail which is a good hiking trail.
