In Maine there are many beautiful lakes, Duckpuddle Pond is one of them. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Stay the night at Lake Pemaquid Campground, and let's not forget Back Meadow Brook which is a stream that you may bump into while here. After a long day outdoors Flagship Inn is a nice location to spend a night or two. Near Duckpuddle Pond you stumble on the Hockomock Nature Trail which is a good hiking trail; a lake nearby is Pemaquid

The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Duckpuddle Pond. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Duckpuddle Pond, you could also visit nearby Kalers Pond; the peak of Cordwood Hill can be distinguished
from Duckpuddle Pond. Damariscotta River is a good whitewater spot in close proximity to Duckpuddle Pond. There's so much to do here at Duckpuddle Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Duck Puddle Campground is a wonderful spot for that.

I have been camping at Oceanwood for the last 3 or 4 years. It is by far the best ocean camping you can find in Maine by far. Spacious sites, peace and quiet, the ocean view is just plain beautiful. If you want a true Maine ocean camping experience, this is the spot....theres no place like it, that I know of. My wife and I first stayed at ocean wood over ten years ago. A friend told us about it. we are avid campers and have camped all over the U.S.A. we try to avoid campgrounds usually opting for back country camping because with the r.v. craze of late so many campgrounds have estentialy become glorified parking lots. this is not the case at ocean wood. the sites give a good sense of privacy and coexist with the natural surroundings almost seemlessly. ocean front sites are spectacular and give an opportiunity to experience maines downeast coast so personaly it becomes a part of you. We try to go each year and realy miss the place between visits. The owner and staff make you feel like a part of the family and we have never had a regret or even a hint of a problem. I wont go into descriptions of the natural beauty of the place because it is truly beyond that. if you know downeast maine, this is it. if you dont, ocean wood is the definition. ... |
