Why not camp at Sunset Point Campground while you're here at Duck Pond; dry warm beds await you at Bar Harbor Inn. Summertime at Duck Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs during the winter are commonly in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Duck Pond. This lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on Pleasant River, and a lake close by is Barren

Places like The Middle Grounds are perfect to have a look at, obviously you could also take a look at Goose Pond since you're here; it's not far at all. Duck Pond gets a lot of water; through November this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is June. Clifford Lake
 | 18 miles away Clifford Lake is very isolated . You can get their via route 9 or Route 1 in Princeton. I would recommend a recent typo map and asking plenty of guestions from the locals. There is a small camping area. My last trip there (92) I had a truck and it was needed to traverse one road that comes to mind. The fishing was excellent ( pickerel averaged 20 in.) .
