    Duck Pond is a lake worth visiting. While you're here at Duck Pond you can take a hike along the Old Telos Tote Road, and lakes are such serene spots, why not check out Cuxabexis Lake. Summer at Duck Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's; the overnight is a bit chillier of course, frequently in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Duck Pond are in the-10's. Going for a hike along the  
   Carry Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; get wet paddling on Smith Brook.
You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Duck Pond. After a long day outdoors Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two, and Big Squaw has good slopes and a friendly staff. If you're here at Duck Pond, you could explore Cuxabexis Stream, and on a nice day you can take a hike along the Big Spencer Mountain
 
               Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
Moose Pond is a good lake next to Duck Pond, and paddling on Ellis Brook is so much fun. The amount of precipitation that falls at Duck Pond is close to the national average; through the month of July you get the most rain around here while February is typically the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Cuxabexis Cove is in the vicinity and always wonderful to go to, and camping at Frost Pond Campground is always a great experience.

Chesuncook Lake
I worked two summers for Great Northern Paper Company on Chesuncook Lake.  1967 and 68 were two of the last years the drive existed as it was replaced in the early 70's by truckers.  Also worked at Ripogenus Dam sluicing pulp into the Millinocket River and followed the wood down toward Millinocket.  Slept, ate in the Boom House.  Winston Morse was our boss the first year and Bert McBernie the second.  Nelson Lavasseur was the overall boss of the drive.  Chesuncook then could at times be covered by pulp wood often being towed down lake by the Edward Hilton a 70' tow boat that moved about 1/2 mile an hour under load....

The loons will dry off after diving for a meal....
I think we have every color sunset known to man....
