A pleasant site for whitewater paddling next to Duck Pond is Union River, and on a gorgeous day you acquire a glorious view of Bald Hill from Duck Pond. Visiting Acadia National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and you can spend the day on the beach at Echo Lake Beach. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Old Spring Trail, and dry warm beds await you at The Harbour Cottage Inn. For the period of the summertime months at Duck Pond temperatures are regularly in the 70's. Summer night lows descend down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Duck Pond temperatures descend to the 10's.
