The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Bigrock; get yourself into a kayak and hit Mattawamkeag River - West Branch. Duck Pond is right by       the Pierce Tote Road. There's so much to do here at Duck Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds is a glorious location for that. An average amount of rainfall falls at Duck Pond; most of the rain falls during July, and February is when it's the driest. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Kennedy Tote Road; perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Hidden Pond                  is just a very short distance away. At Duck Pond all through the summertime highs are in the 70's, and the nighttime is rather chillier of course, usually in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Duck Pond are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful.
