     Downing Pond is always a pleasure to visit. Downing Pond is a wet place that gets a large amount of precipitation; November is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is August. If you need a spot to stay The Harborside Hotel and Marina is a tremendous choice; there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Narraguagus River - West Branch. Summertime highs at Downing Pond commonly tend to be in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the  
   50's. During the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Downing Pond dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Downing Pond you can take a hike along the Alder Path Trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit Narraguagus River. This place, Downing Pond, it simply has so much outdoors cool stuff. Dry warm beds await you at Bar Harbor Inn; going for a hike along the The Anvil Trail will let you
 
               absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
If time allows, Acadia National Park is a national park worth taking a look at; you acquire a pleasant sight of Catskin Mountain from here. If you're here at Downing Pond, you could go to Black Rock Brook. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Downing Pond has to offer, you can camp at Flanders Bay. This lake is so wonderful. A tour to Downing Pond wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Sprague Falls, and Downing Pond is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, Mainayr Campground is a perfect place to camp nearby.
Don't miss out on a great swamp; Catskin Heath is right here at Downing Pond; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Lead Mountain Trail.
