What a nice lake Douglas Pond is. At Douglas Pond all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows at Douglas Pond during the winter frequently drop into the 0's. | | choice, and Sebasticook River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. Holiday Inn Waterville,Me is a good site to get some rest. Now, you may believe that's a load but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Douglas Pond. in a year July is the one with the most rain while February is usually the driest month. Fogg Brook is a great local stream, and there are other places here than Douglas Pond, for example Mill Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
If you came for an overnight stay Nature Way's Campground is a splendid place to camp; not far from Douglas Pond you'll hit upon Sebasticook River Reservoir which is a striking lake.

Eaton Mountain
 | 22 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
