     Dority Pond is a nice site to visit for more than one day, Jackman Landing Campground is a nice site to camp nearby; there's good hiking along the Alder Brook Trail. Do visit Cheney Pond next to Dority Pond, it's a pretty lake, and the Sally Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. All through the warm months, highs mostly are in the 70's at Dority Pond. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are  
   usually in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Dority Pond sink into the-10's. There's whitewater on Penobscot River - South Branch for all you adrenaline people; don't leave Dority Pond without first going for a hike along the Bald Mountain Trail.
An average amount of precipitation falls at Dority Pond; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. You'll come
 
               across a picturesque lake called Wounded Deer Pond near Dority Pond; Old Mill Camping Area is a magnificent local campground.
Yeah, come here to Dority Pond for a perfect time. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Penobscot River - South Branch, and Herbert Grand Hotel is a good place to get some rest.
