Winthrop Motel is a splendid site to get some rest; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Titcomb is relatively near. All the water falling down from the sky makes Doloff Pond a wet site; November is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Inn & Suites; a glorious place to camp here at Doloff Pond is Five Seasons Campground. This is a

| | popular spot for people from Augusta-Waterville, and nearby you stumble on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Camp Laurel. On a wonderful day you obtain a view of Hornbeam Mountain from Doloff Pond, and soar down the rapids of Sandy River in a kayak. Lakes? Sure, Minnehonk Lake is nearby. This is no site for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Moose Pond; get yourself into a kayak and hit Cobbosseecontee Stream.

Eaton Mountain
 | 20 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.
