A visit to Dollar Pond is always a good idea. Head up to Shawnee Peak and strap some skis to your feet, and whitewater paddling is great on Saco River. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Dollar Pond has to offer, you can camp at Acres Of wildlife Camping; not far from Dollar Pond you'll hit upon Halfmoon Pond which is a striking lake.

| | to camp here for a while, Nason's Beach and Campground is a glorious place for that, and a short spree to Cold Bowling Spring is always worthwhile. Lots of rain falls at Dollar Pond; November is when you get the most rain here; September is the month with the least moisture. Yep, outdoors fun stuff to do are truly abundant here at Dollar Pond. Do go to Pequawket Dam if you're here at Dollar Pond, and Pleasant Mountain Inn is a delightful place to get some rest.

Swamps don’t sound that wonderful but Pickpole Swamp near Dollar Pond is rather wonderful, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at nearby Horne Pond. Summer at Dollar Pond comes with high temperatures
in the 70's while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 20's while Dollar Pond overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's. Some of the water nearby flows, like Horse Pond Brook, and dry warm beds await you at Sanford/Kennebunkport Super 8 Motel.
