     Miner Brook is a delightful stream that is worth visiting, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Penobscot River - West Branch. There's great hiking along the Cedar Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. During your trip to Dolby Pond you'll meet some people from Bangor for sure, and don't leave Dolby Pond without first going for a hike along the Sandbank Trail. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Dolby Pond; November is the month that gets the most  
   rain, and February is when it's the driest.
If you came to camp Pine Grove Campground is a fine spot to do that, and soar down the rapids of Penobscot River - East Branch in a kayak. Throughout the summer here at Dolby Pond, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Highs all through the winter are mostly in the 20's; night lows at Dolby Pond throughout the wintertime ordinarily drop
 
               into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Gray Ledge Dam Trail, and a round of golf at nearby Hillcrest Golf Club is a wonderful way to kill some time.
You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up. There's so much to do here at Dolby Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Katahdin Shadows Campground is a tremendous spot for that, and dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Inn & Suites. Lakes? Sure, West Branch Penobscot River Reservoir is in close proximity; Dolby Dam is a site that is in the vicinity of Dolby Pond. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Partridge Brook Flowage, and after a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Heritage Motor Inn is a perfect place to spend a night or two.
